New Wave City

is the First & Foremost ‘80s Dance Party, originating in 1992, and currently presented once a month at the Cat Club on the third Saturday. NWC is devoted to playing the best in alternative dance music from the New Wave era of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s. The promoters, hosts, and DJs of NWC are Shindog and Skip.

At any NWC event, you can expect a cool crowd of knowledgeable New Wave music fans from various ages and walks of life, who come together to dance, socialize, and celebrate the soundtrack of their lives. Each event features a tribute to one of the seminal acts of the period, such as Depeche Mode, The Cure, New Order, Duran Duran, Siouxsie & The Banshees, etc. You'll hear songs and music videos from the featured artist throughout the evening as well as the rest of the best of New Wave.

Special events such as New Wave Prom, Winter Ball, or the NWC Anniversary Party will feature added attractions: like special guest DJ Terri Nunn of Berlin, or a live performances from Debora Iyall of Romeo Void, plus fashion shows, performance pieces, go-go dancers, and much more.
